Today during circle time have a large white piece of butcher paper. As a group have the children color the bottom of the butcher paper blue and have the children make waves to represent the ocean. In the middle of the paper have the children color it green to represent land. Finally, at the top of the paper have the children make the sky by coloring it blue and making clouds. Once, the children have finished this part you will hand them different photos of transportation vehicles. Click here for some pictures you could use. Give each child a turn to tell what item they have and if it is used in the sky, land, or water. Then ask the child to place the item where it should go on the paper.

Provide the children with different colored spray bottles. You can either have the spray bottles filled with water colors or food coloring and water or a small amount of paint and water. If you use paint and water make sure you shake it well before using so it wont clog. Then provide the children with a hot air balloon pattern and have the children spray the colored water on the paper. Once the children finish their masterpiece allow the art work to dry.
