Pigs – Let’s talk about pigs with Miss Cullen. Did you know that pigs are very smart? And notice the pig’s snout – that is his nose. Pigs use their snout to dig in the soil and find food. They also have an excellent sense of smell. Baby pigs are called Piglets. Pigs need to be near mud and water so they can cool off. By rolling around in the mud and water, they can cool off. But overall, pigs are very clean animals. Click here or the "Extra Content" button and watch my video as we do our Circle Time together!

Children learn about the letters in this part of the Online Preschool. Click here to learn how to lead this activity. A different letter is featured each class, and Miss Cullen teaches about upper and lower case, how to make the sound of the letters and will also show, taste and describe foods that begin with that letter. (It is only optional to have and taste the foods.)
Learn about the letter F with Miss Cullen and Gator. First Miss Cullen and Gator are going to show the upper and lower case letter F. Then review the sound of the F. Next look at three types of food that start with the letter F: Frito, feta cheese and Fig Newton. If you have these items at home you can try them with Miss Cullen and discuss what it looks like, feels like, tastes like, sounds like and smells like. Click here or the "Extra Content" box above to watch this video! If you'd like you can also watch my prep video and learn more about my video food series by clicking here!
Remember, when trying the different foods, it has to go in your mouth but it doesn't have to stay there. But it is always good to try something new.

Click here or my "Prep Video" box to learn more about Daniel and the Lions’ Den!
Today we are going to talk about a man named Daniel, a king, some lions, an angel and God. There was a man named Daniel. He loved God very much and every day he prayed to God. There was also a King that liked Daniel. He asked Daniel to be his helper. But that made some of the King’s friends angry and they decided to try and hurt Daniel. So the King’s friends said to the King. “You are a great King. You should make a rule that everyone should pray to you. If anyone should pray to his own God, he should be put into the den with the lions.” And the King wanted to feel important so he made that rule. But Daniel didn’t pray to the King, he prayed to God. So the King’s friends told on Daniel and the King had to follow the new rule and sent Daniel to the lions’ den with the hungry lions. Since the lions were hungry, they were going to eat Daniel. That is exactly what the King’s friends wanted. The King though was very sad about this. So the next morning he ran to the lions’ den. “Daniel, Daniel are you all right,” he called. And Daniel was alright. While in the lions’ den, Daniel prayed to God for help and God sent an angel to close the mouths of the lions so they could not hurt Daniel. Daniel still believed and trusted in God despite being sent to the lions’ den. Now let’s pray with Miss Cullen.
Prayer:
Dear God, thank you for today. Thank you for this wonderful story about Daniel who loved you so much. Please help us to be just like Daniel and love you and trust you - that you will be with us always. We love you. Amen.

Now your child can make his/her own pig. On pink construction paper, use this pattern and cut out the shape of a pig. Have your child decorate the pig with brown paint, mud or coffee grounds. While your child is decorating explain how pigs use mud to cool themselves off. Click here or click "prep video" above to watch my video on Pig Art!
