Bears – Miss Cullen is going to show us some pictures of bears. The first bear is running. Bears are big, heavy and powerful, but they can move very quickly. They only have okay hearing and can’t see very well but they have a good sense of smell. In the next picture, the bear has a fish in his mouth and he is in the water. Bears like to eat plants, honey, insects, small animals and fish. In the next photo there is a bear sleeping. Bears spend the entire winter sleeping. This is called hibernating. Can you say that with Miss Cullen? Hi-ber-nat-ing. And these are baby bears. They are called cubs and grow up pretty fast. A cub will spend between one and two years with their mom before going off on their own.

A different letter is featured each class, and Miss Cullen teaches about upper and lower case, how to make the sound of the letters and will also show, taste and describe foods that begin with that letter. (It is only optional to have and taste the foods.)
Learn about the letter G with Miss Cullen and Gator. First Miss Cullen and Gator are going to show the upper and lower case letter G. Then review the sound of the G. Next look at different types of food that start with the letter G: Gatorade, grapes, granola and grapefruit. If you have these items at home you can try them with Miss Cullen and discuss what it looks like, feels like, tastes like, sounds like and smells like. Click here or the "Extra Content" box above to watch this video! If you'd like you can also watch my prep video and learn more about my video food series by clicking here!
Remember, when trying the different foods, it has to go in your mouth but it doesn't have to stay there. But it is always good to try something new.

Click here or click "prep video" above to watch my video and then have your child make a Polar Bear. Click here for a pattern of a polar bear. Cut it out on white construction paper of poster board. Spread some glue and shaving cream in a tray or bowl and mix it up. Have your child decorate the polar bear with lots and lots of the shaving cream and glue mixture. The more that is put on the better because as it dries, it will make the polar bear all puffy.
Note, you have the flexibility to do a different art activity rather than the suggested idea.
