Let’s have a fun day learning about ice! You can look up some information on how ice is made but I have to tell you I looked and there was information but not something very simple for children to understand. If you find something please let me know :). Here is a bit of information:
1. The existence of water is essential for life on Earth and it covers around 70% of the Earth’s surface.
2. Water has three different states, liquid, solid and gas.
3. The word water usually refers to water in its liquid state. The solid state of water is known as ice while the gas state of water is known as steam or water vapor.
As much as information is great and it’s great to know the facts, it’s also wonderful to be hands on as

Today’s worship involves some role playing. Here is a great idea from Ministry to Children to have the children dress up as characters from the story. You can keep it simple with dressing up and use blankets or sheets to wrap around their bodies.
Here is what you can say to the children from Ministry to Children: I have a special surprise for everyone! Each of you are going to receive a Bible times outfit. In today’s lesson from the book of Mark (hold up your Bible, showing them the book), we are going to learn about how Jesus called men to follow Him. He calls each of us to follow Him too! We will put on our outfits and pretend we were one of His followers while He was here on Earth. We can pretend we are hearing Jesus teach just like His followers heard Him teach. Are you ready to follow Jesus through the book of Mark?
(Pass out an outfit to each child.) Here is the story if you’d like to read it here:
Story: Jesus Chooses His Disciples
Jesus began to tell people about God. He knew he had a lot of work to do, and he went to find some helpers. As Jesus was walking along the seashore, he saw some fishermen. Jesus called to them, “Come. Follow me. I will make you fishers of people.” Right away, they left their boats and followed Jesus. Their names were Peter, Andrew, James and John. Later, Jesus met a tax collector named Matthew. His job was to get the tax money from the people and give it to the king. Matthew quit his job to follow Jesus, too. Jesus chose some more people. Their names were Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, and another man named James. Thaddaeus, Simon and Judas joined them, too. Jesus now had twelve new followers. He called them his disciples. Jesus taught them about God’s love.
Music and Movement: There is a song I Caught a Fish which I thought would be fun to sing just because of Peter, Andrew, James and John were fishermen, also there is a Math Fishing Game to play under Games and Play. Just some extra ideas to add to the Worship if you’d like.
