Take the children outside on a nature walk. Give them small brown bags to store nature items that they find on their walk. While walking, encourage the children to notice the different flowers and the leaves on the trees. Also, have the children take a look at the leaves that have fallen on the ground, as well as the twigs and branches that have fallen from the trees. Invite the children to pick up flowers, leaves, twigs, acorns, and any small nature objects that they find on their nature walk. Once, the children are done go back home and review each item they found. You could talk about what the item feels like, smells like and even the color.
