Let’s color a rainbow today! Click here for the rainbow arch pattern and put out crayons for all the colors of the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple). You can show the children a picture of a rainbow so they know what it looks like and what colors to use. Some children, depending on their skill level will be able to choose the colors in the order they go and will be able to color with them in the arch shape. Other children may mix up the order of the colors and color in various ways on their arch shape and that is okay. Allow them to color it however they’d like to. It is all about the process they are going through learning how to hold the crayon properly, learning about the different colors and strengthening the muscles in their hands which is a great fine motor skill.
