Print out pictures of a front end loader, excavator, backhoe, bulldozer, dump truck, cement mixer and other construction vehicles. Ask the children what they know about heavy equipment, like a dump truck and then talk about construction. You can ask questions like: "What are some construction vehicle pictures you see?", "Where would you see an excavator or dump truck?", and "What other big trucks do you know?", "Why do we need these vehicles?” How is a house made?”
Here are a couple construction vehicles you could print out:
Bulldozer
Cement mixer
Backhoe loader
Excavator
Front End Loader
Dump Truck

Print out the Bible memory verse coloring sheet and have your children color the picture. Sit with your children while they are coloring and talk about what they see in the picture (see questions below if you’d like some ideas). This is a time for observation before the story is read and for children to share their thoughts on what they see in the picture and what they are thinking. It’s okay if they do not answer the questions correctly, allow them to share their thoughts. Your discussion will lead into the Jesus Loves Children story you will read later together.
Questions to ask if you like:
• Who do you think the man is in the picture? (Jesus)
• Who are the children with? (Jesus)
• Do the children in the picture look happy? (Yes)
• How do you feel when you are with Jesus? (Accept all answers)
• Do you think Jesus loves you and wants you to come to him? (YES)
This is a perfect time to talk about the Bible and how to use it. You can show the children your Bible so they have a better understanding of what a book, chapter and verse are. You can say: “The Bible is one big book made up of many smaller books. Each book has a name. Today we are learning a Bible verse in the book of Mark. When you find Mark in the new testament look for the number 10 at the top left or right of the page, this is the chapter. You will see Mark 10. We are looking for verse 14, and those numbers are much smaller under the big chapter number 10.”
After looking at the Bible show them “Mark 10:14” written out on their Memory Verse Coloring Sheet. To see and hear all of the Books that make up the Bible watch this fun, short video, The Books of the Bible, by Readeez!
After they are done coloring they can hang their Memory Verse Coloring Sheet up in a special place. Then when your child walks by the sheet they can work on memorizing the Bible verse.

Go outside with your child and have the child find dirt, pebbles, grass, or anything that they would like to glue onto their dump truck to decorate it with. As you walk around outside encourage your child to talk about what they see and may hear. Allow your child to ask questions and observe the nature around them; also let them feel the different texture of the plants around them. You can watch this dump truck video and here is the dump truck pattern.
**Allow your child to enjoy the process of creation, and avoid focusing on the end product.***
