Print out pictures of airplanes and helicopters. You can use the ones I have provided for you or you can print out your own. Ask if they have ridden in either an airplane or helicopter. Asking these questions will establish what the children know about air transportation and if they have previous experience with these forms of transportation. Ask the children if they have ever seen a helicopter. Ask the children if they can describe the way a helicopter flies. Does it take-off like an airplane?

This project is a great way for children to see children that God made and how much he loves each and every one of us.
Place a few different magazines on the table to look through and find children to cut out. You may want to go through the magazines first and cut out pages for your children. Spread the pictures out onto the table and children can find the pictures they like. They can cut out the pictures of children and glue as many as they want onto their piece of construction paper. You can even write the key verse (Let the little children come to me. Mark 10:14) at the top of the page.

Place the popsicle sticks on the table and have children use little drops of glue to stick them together to make their helicopter or airplane. Remember this is the child’s interruption of an airplane or helicopter, so they can glue the Popsicle sticks wherever they like.
If you’d like to extend the project once the glue is dry the children could paint their airplane fun colors.
