Read the Bible Story
You can read from a Children’s Bible, your Bible or use the following story.
Abraham loved God and so did his wife Sara. One day, God told Abraham to move to a land called Canaan. He also said, "Abraham, I have a wonderful plan, and your family is a very important part of that plan. Through you, all the families on earth will be blessed. Follow Me and trust Me."
Abraham and Sarah trusted God and knew that He would take care of them. So they packed up their bags and followed God all the way to the land of Canaan.
God asked Abraham, "Do you see all the starts in the sky?" When Abraham looked up, the whole night sky was full of starts, so many in fact tat he would never be able to count them. Then God gave Abraham a blessing. God said, "That is how many children you and Sarah will be blessed with and all the land you see here will be your forever."
They waited for God to bless them with a family. And they waited. And waited some more.
While they were traveling to Canaan they stopped to rest for a little bit. One hot day while Abraham was sitting by his tent he looked up and saw three men that were visitors coming along the path. Abraham hurried from his ten to greet them. He asked them if they would like to rest and eat some food.
Abraham told Sarah about the visitors and she made a meal for them. While they ate, he stood near them under a tree.
The visitors asked, "Where is your wife Sarah?" Abraham answered, "She is there, in the tent." Then one of the men said, "About this time next year, Sarah will have a son."Sarah hear what they said. She laughed, thinking, I am too old. God asked Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh? Anything is possible with God." Sarah was 90 years old and Abraham was 100 years old.
Well sure enough, just as God and the visitors had said, the next year, Sarah had a baby boy. Abraham and Sarah named him Isaac.
Abraham and Sarah are the Bible Superheroes in this story because they listened, obeyed and trusted God with their whole heart.
