Cullen's thoughts

Resurrection eggs are a great way to help keep the focus on Jesus during the Easter season. This is a wonderful way to share with children what the Bible says about the death and resurrection of Jesus. You can also use a children’s Bible, books or pictures to help tell the story.

I love how these eggs bring this amazing story to life, so let’s crack open an egg and learn about the Easter story together! If you’d like to make your own eggs here is the video on how to do it, and the art pattern I refer to in the video.  You can even open the eggs along with me and Gator in the resurrection eggs video series!

You can find me using resurrection eggs in the following themes in the free Online Preschool:

  • Dr. Seuss (1-3)
  • St. Patrick’s Day (4-6)
  • Transportation (7-9)
  • Season: Spring, Flowers, Easter (10-12)

Children are working on some amazing skills when they are interacting with these eggs. Children are using fine motor skills when opening and closing the egg. Language skills are being used when talking about what is inside the eggs. Cognitive skills are being developed when children are remembering what was in the previous eggs. Math and counting skills are being used when they are counting the number of eggs there are, and adding up the number of eggs they have already opened or have left to open. Children are also working on their social development as they are talking and listening with others while interacting with the eggs. (To see where you child is in developing these skills use my free Kindergarten Readiness Evaluation.)
