We have been learning about the ocean and the animals that live in it. I thought it would be fun to make an ocean in a bottle. Fill a clear bottle halfway with water. Add a couple drops of blue food coloring and swish the water around. Then fill the rest of the bottle with baby oil. You could use a funnel to make this easier. Put the lid on tight and then seal again with a white glue or a hot glue gun. Tilt the bottle from side to side. The water and oil do not mix together, but instead they form layers. The oil will float above the water; which makes it move like a wave.
