Making these rolls is a wonderful way to reinforce the story of Easter. Reinforce the Easter story while you are making the rolls in the classroom or at home is to have the children tell you what the marshmallow (Jesus), the melted butter and cinnamon/sugar (oils and spices put on Jesus’ body) and the roll represents (tomb Jesus’ body was put in). I love to make these on Easter Sunday and eat them with our breakfast. Delicious!
When making the rolls children are using their 5 senses: smell, touch, sight, taste, and hearing. They are also using their fine motor skills when they are rolling the marshmallow in the butter and cinnamon/sugar, and are even strengthening the muscles in their hands when wrapping the marshmallow into the roll.
